Donna M (Gorniak) Wargo

Donna M. (Gorniak) Wargo, age 79, of North East passed away on Monday June 22, 2026 at UPMC Hamot.

She was born on October 17, 1946 in Little Hope, Pennsylvania to the late Michael Gorniak, Sr. and Marguerite (Yaple) Gorniak.

Donna graduated from North East High School in 1964 and furthered her education in phlebotomy from Gannon University.

Donna's life was defined by her compassion for others throughout her career. Her warmth and compassion touched countless lives. She dedicated her entire life to caring and was one of the first employees to serve at the North East Health Care Center. Since 1977 she always greeted and treated every patient with a warm smile and motherly approach. She was also employed by Welch Foods as a Lab Technician and ended her career at Vineyard Primary Care where after she enjoyed retirement with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Outside of work, Donna was an avid reader and found great joy in flower gardening. She will be sadly missed for her beautiful smile, warm heart, and compassion for others.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.

She is survived by her husband, W. James Wargo; son, James Michael Wargo; daughter, Jamie M. Spacht; and grandchildren, Sawyer Wargo and Jonathan Spacht.

Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the East Erie County EMS, 5601 Buffalo Road, Harborcreek, PA 16421. Private interment will be held at Grahamville Cemetery.
