Donna Mae Hadzega

Donna Mae Cole Hadzega, age 85, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 17th, 2022. After a long battle of Parkinson’s disease. She was born July 8th, 1936, in Waterford Pa. the daughter of the late Lawrence and Ada (Griffith) Cole. Donna grew up with her 5 siblings in Mill Village Pa. She later married and moved to North East Pa. to raise her family. Donna loved homestead farming and being outdoors. She planted and canned fruits and vegetables, raised chickens and cows, birthed calves, and butchered chickens. She took great pride in her many flower gardens. She also enjoyed baking, sewing and woodworking. She loved spending time with her brothers and sisters. Family was one of the most important things in her life. Donna’s true passion was reading and studying God’s word in great detail. Donna was proceeded in death by her Hus- band, Nicholas Hadzega, Infant Daughter Karen Elizebeth, A brother, Lloyd Cole, Brother-in-law Bob Rohrer, Sister-in-Law, Audrey Cole and Sis- ter-in-law Donna Cole. Donna will forever be remembered by her daughters Stephanie Reslink (Bob) of North East, Kathleen Boyer of North East, Nicholeen Pragle (Jeff) of Tionesta Pa. and Darleen Hadzega (Craig), of North East. She is also survived by brothers, Theadore (Ted) Cole, of Mill Village, Pa. Larry Cole (Sue)of Bear Lake Pa. and sisters Barbara Hadzega (Chuck)of North East, Kathrine Rohrer of Mill Village Pa., and sister in law June Cole of Florida, Grandchildren; Janet, Rob, Danya, April, Kim, Lindsey and Great Grandchildren; Ellori, Liam, Nova, Thea, Atlas and Justin as well as several nieces’ nephews and cousins. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Private interment will be held at North East Cemetery. Please send condolences to elkinfh.com.
