Obituary
Donald “Don” Clayton Meehl died at Nightingale Nursing and Rehab Center on August 2, 2023.
He was 86 years old.
Don was born on July 15, 1937 to the late Clayton W. and Gladys Felton Meehl.
After graduating from North East High School, he attended Gannon College where he graduated with a BA in Business in 1962.
He worked at Eureka Electrical Products as an Accountant until his retirement in 2001. Don and his brother, James, successfully ran Eureka for 40 years. Eureka is the oldest continually operating business in Erie County.
Don enjoyed playing golf and rooting for the Cleveland Guardians, the Browns, and the Cavaliers. He enjoyed keeping in contact with his friends Ron and Nancy Lewis of Cleveland and Barbara Feiss of Syracuse.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother James and a brother Paul who died at birth.
Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 63 South Lake Street, North East, on Tuesday, August 8 from 10:30 to 11:30 am. Internment at Quincy Cemetery in Ripley, NY will be private. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
