Donald Maytum

Donald Maytum, 93, of Erie, formerly of Sun City Center, Florida,  passed away on Friday May 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at his residence.

He was born on October 20, 1931 in Dunkirk, New York to the late James and Della (Watts) Maytum.

Donald attended North East High School and served in the 32nd Military Tank Division of the United States Army.

Donald was owner and CEO of three paint stores located in Erie until is retirement in Florida. Auto Body Paint and Supply and  Automotive Paint and Supply.

He was a member of the East Erie Moose Lodge and a member of the Sheriff Posse. 

He was preceded by his parents; sister, Shirley Sereno; brother, Gerald Maytum; and his infant son, Donald Maytum Jr.

Donald is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Dorothy (Werling) Maytum; sons, Steven Maytum of Erie and Douglas Maytum (Buffie) of Brandon, Florida; daughters, Shirlee Pound (Lonnie) of Findley Lake, NY, Connie Youngs (Gary) of North East, and Cathy Evans of Girard, PA; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East.
