Obituary
Donald Hughes, age 53, of North East, died on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at UPMC Hamot. He was born on July 21, 1969 in Erie, PA to the late Richard and Doris McCoy Hughes.
Donnie attended North East High School, was a member of Brotherhood of St. Joseph and formerly was employed as a processor at Port Erie Plastics in Harborcreek for 25 years.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Steve Sirochman and his step-father, Angelo Vilella.
He is survived by his wife, Rusty Hamilton Hughes; step-son, William Foster of Erie; his brothers; Richard Hughes (Dawn) of Punxsutawney; and Bryan Hughes (Toni) of Erie; his sisters: Shirley Sirochman of Home, PA and Lou Ann Gilkinson (Randy) of North East.
Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East, PA on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Private interment will be held at St. Gregory’s Cemetery.
