Dennis L Gorniak

Dennis L. Gorniak, 69, of Erie, Pa., passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at UPMC Hamot. He was born on August 30, 1951 in Erie, Pa., the son of the late Michael E. and Dorthea (Weaver) Gorniak. He graduated from North East High School and was later employed by Welch’s Foods. He enjoyed reading, watching football, and being with his family and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Shirley M. (Chaffee) Gorniak. He is survived by his sons, Dennis Gorniak Jr. (Billie) and David Gorniak (Sarah); daughters, Kelly Gorniak and Kerrie Gorniak (James); brothers, Michael F., Donald, Eugene, and Randy Gorniak; sisters, Deborah Hubbard, Darlene Pukylo, Jean Castillo, Diane Hummel, Betty J Truby, and Rita Skowron; grandchildren, Brittani, Stephani, Christopher, Sierra, Jacob, Jennifer, Brendan, Bailey, Alexis; great- grandchildren, Cody and Avianna; his good friend, Robert Jackson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake St., North East, on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. observing all COVID-19 safety measures. Interment will be held at French Creek Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
