Delbert R. Carr

Delbert R. "Peanut" Carr, age 72, of North East, passed away on Tuesday morning June 21, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born on February 8, 1950 in Erie, Pennsylvania the son of the late Reid and Grace Marie (Hannold) Carr. Delbert was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Army. He was formerly employed by the Harborcreek School District in the maintenance department until retirement. Delbert was a member of the North East V.F.W. Post 4789 and the North East American Legion Post 105. 

He enjoyed four-wheeler riding and working on lawn mowers and tractors in his spare time. He was a loving father and grandfather with a great sense of humor who loved to joke around.

Delbert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Peggy Carr (8-31-2018); three brothers; and a sister. He is survived by his children; Donnie Farrington (Rebecca), Pamela Farrington, Gary Carr, Gerald Carr (Dorthy), and Sabrina Thomas (Dennis); a sister, Dianna Collins; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He will be missed dearly and forever in our hearts. Memorials may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America organization. Private funeral arrangements are being handled by the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East.
