Clarence "Scrappy" David Onorato, age 86, of North East, passed away on Saturday June 17, 2023 in Venice, Florida. He was born on August 13, 1936 in Erie, PA to the late Clarence Anthony and Jane (Petachi) Onorato.
Clarence graduated from Erie Technical High School in 1954 and the G.E. Apprentice Program in 1958. He served in the United States Marine Corps in the trucking division. Clarence was formerly employed by General Electric Locomotive as a drafting designer for forty years and was a member and manager of the Loco Liners Softball Team. He was a faithful member of St. Gregory Thaumaturgus Church where he sang in the choir. Clarence, along with his wife, was a member of Squaws & Paws, Perry Square Dancing Group, and the Ballroom Dancing Society. Scrappy enjoyed hunting, golf, and outdoor sports. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Clarence was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Roselle Marie (Jambers) Onorato whom he married on February 24, 1962 and a brother, Edward Onorato.
He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Onorato (Diane) of Florida; brother, Paul Onorato (Wendy) of Millcreek; sisters, Susan Galeazzo (John) of Ohio and Patty Waide (Larry) of Idaho; grandchildren, Stephanie, Christianne, Jonathan, and Angela; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Saturday September 2nd at 11:00 a.m. until time of a Prayer Service at 12:00 p.m. Officiating the service is Fr. Thomas Brooks.
