It is with great sadness that the family of Chelsea Ann (Kerr) Best announces her passing at the age of 31. Chelsea passed away December 13, 2022. She was born on January 11, 1991 in Erie, Pennsylvania to John H. Kerr and Janet Perry Kerr.
She attended Fort Leboeuf Schools and Ripley Central School District. She was a loving mother and wife, her family meant the world to her. She was very caring and would do anything for a close family member or friend.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph Best, her loving children, Alexis Potter and Jase Best, her parents John (Patricia) Kerr and Janet Kerr. Her siblings, John Joseph (Michelle) Kerr, Stephanie Kerr, and Gregory (Wendy) Burbules, paternal grandmothers Jeannette (James) Scott, and Shirley Kerr. She is also survived by her mother-in-law and father-in-law John and Sally Best, sister-in-laws Justina Eddy (Matt), and Jessica Best, step siblings Timothy (Kari) Shrout, and Amy (Kaisen) Pearce. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind Henry and Ira, her dogs.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, John (Wally) Kerr, grandparents, Barbara and Lloyd Best, and cousin Rien Washburn.
Chelsea spent a majority of her free time with her family. Joe and Chelsea were married on August 6, 2016 in Ripley, New York at a beautiful outdoor ceremony. Her husband and children were her most cherished people to be with. She enjoyed time outdoors with them including summers spent in the pool, watching her children play baseball and softball and hunting. Everyone gravitated to her house for family and friend gatherings, a wonderful time and great meal were always enjoyed when spending time there. Chelsea was artistic and enjoyed woodworking. She had a way of lighting up a room and had a beautiful smile.
Chelsea was employed at Erie Insurance since March, 2017. Chelsea was pursuing her bachelor of business degree from the University of Arizona Global Campus.
Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until time of a funeral service at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please direct any memorial donations to the family in honor of her children Lexi Potter and Jase Best or plant a tree in her memory.
