Charles W. Kinney

Charles W. Kinney, age 65, of Harborcreek, died on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at UPMC Hamot. He was born on June 8, 1956 in Jamestown, New York the son of the late Gene Platt and Shirley Rose Kunselman Kinney Platt. Chuck was formerly employed by Moorhead Vineyards Inc. for several years. He was a member of the Harborcreek Fire Department and enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, and NASCAR. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Trisha Pelinsky; brother, Danny Kinney; and a step-brother, Robert Platt. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Diana (Ellsworth) Kinney whom he married May 26, 1979; son, Douglas Kinney of Harborcreek; brother, Timothy Kinney (Diane) of North East; sisters, Katherine Fenno of North East, Stacey Moore (Kevin) of Ohio, and Cynthia Corner (Glenn) of TN; step-brothers, Jim Platt (Amy) of Harborcreek, Brian Platt (Louann) of CO, Dennis Platt of Brookville, and Travis Platt of Brookville; grandchildren, Alex Pierce, Morgan Pelinsky (Aaron), Logan Pelinsky, and Kataryna Pelinsky; great-granddaughter, Elowyn Leigh Pommer; son-in-law, Geoffrey Pelinsky; close friends, Cliff See and Edward Boyd; also many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Friday from Noon until time of funeral service at 2:00 P.M.
