Cecil McClellan Obituary

Cecil J. McClellan, age 80, of Ripley, New York, passed away on Sunday November 17, 2024 at Absolute Nursing Home in Westfield.

He was born on October 16, 1944 in Washington, D.C. to the late Cecil I. and Mary (Watson) McClellan.

Cecil grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and graduated from Ambridge High School.

He was a veteran serving in United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era.

Cecil was formerly employed as an insurance sales manager at AIG Insurance in Erie for several years where he attend several insurance conventions throughout his professional career.

He was a member of the Ripley Grange Hall and was passionate about anything outdoors, camping, hiking all over North America, traveling, swimming, canoeing, motorcycles, motorcross racing, and spending time with his family.

Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ralph McClellan; and sister, Muriel Recker.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Diane E. (Barry) McClellan whom he married October 3, 1981; son, Shane McClellan of Erie; step-children, Eric Barry of North East, William Mathews (Marlene) of Memphis, TN; and Melanie Mathews (Al) of North East; sister, Debbie Aten of Follansbee, WV; grandchildren, Randa Barry, Andrew Barry, Conor Barry, Madison Barry, Keegan Barry, Taylor Cunningham, Kasie Cunningham, Will Mathews, and Nickolas Mathews; and 3 great-grandchildren.
