Catherine Marie (Bahm) Boland

Catherine Marie (Bahm) Boland, age 84, of North East, passed away on Sunday June 9, 2024 at home surrounded by her family.

She was born on September 15, 1939 in Erie, Pennsylvania to the late Robert Charles and Wilma L. (Batten) Bahm.

Catherine graduated Fairview High School and attended Grove City College.

She was employed as a North East School District crossing guard, Avon sales representative, and cake decorator for several years.

Catherine was a member of St. Gregory Thaumaturgus Church, VFW Post 4789, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Post 105, Republican Party, Brotherhood of St. Joseph, and was a Cub Scouts of America Den Mother.

She enjoyed family reunions & picnics, bowling, yard sales, baking, flower gardens, cake decorating, crossword puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, David, Robert, and Daniel Bahm; and sister, Carol Cashmere.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years James Boland whom she married on October 3, 1959; children, James Boland Jr. (Susan), Jeffrey Boland (Patricia), Fr. Patrick "Gregory" Boland, Cathy Ann Boland, Eric Boland, Diane Kirk (Steve), and Christine Boland; brothers, James Bahm (Rita), Carl Bahm, and Timothy Bahm; sister, Genevieve Harkins (Jim); ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Thursday June 20th from 2:00 p.m. till 6:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Friday June 21st at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gregory Thaumaturgus Church, 50 South Pearl Street, North East.
