Carol E (Eades) Bailey

Carol E. (Eades) Bailey, age 83, of North East, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Nightingale Nursing & Rehab Center with her husband by her side.

She was born on April 18, 1941 in North East, Pennsylvania to the late Howard E. and Dorothy A. (Luke) Eades.

Carol graduated from North East High School and worked at the Boston Store and the North East Alliance Day Care for several years. 

She was a member of the North East Alliance Church where she was involved with the church youth group.

Carol ran a food pantry with her good friend Nancy Beeman and helped many in the community.

She was an amazing cook and baker. She made cakes for birthdays and weddings and was well known for her delicious sweet rolls. 

Carol enjoyed homemaking, couponing, baking, cooking, quilting, sewing, and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandsons, Elijah Caleb Deitrick and Zachary Daniel Wadding.

Carol is survived by her husband of 56 years Richard Bailey whom she married July 13, 1968; children, Gail Wadding (Ed), and Douglas Bailey (Amy); brother, Delmas Eades (Donna); nephews, Danny and Chad Eades; step-children Brian Bailey, and Sue Fertig (Jerry), grandchildren Jordan, Hunter, Dorian, Ava, Cooper, Hannah and Clay; great-grandchildren Reilynn, Luke and Chet.

Friends and family may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of a funeral service at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service is Pastor Marvin Hutchison. Private interment North East Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the North East Alliance Church, 81 East Main Street, North East, PA 16428.
