Carmella Ann (LaFuria) Manges

Carmella Ann (LaFuria) Manges, age 85, of North East, passed away on Thursday June 20, 2024 at St. Vincent Hospital.

She was born on August 18, 1938 in Erie, Pennsylvania to the late Russell and Stella (Wisnieski) LaFuria.

Carmella graduated from St. Gregory High School and retired from Welch Foods after 26 years.

She was a member of St. Gregory Thaumaturgus Church in North East.

Carmella was a devoted mother and enjoyed her family, grandchildren, crocheting, cooking, playing cards and spending time at the family camp near Marienville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl L. Manges, whom she married July 13,1957; brother, Sam LaFuria; sister, Kathy Scepura; sister-in-laws, Fran and Tina LaFuria; and three infant grandchildren.

Carmella is survived by her children Mark Manges (Barb) of Harborcreek, James Manges of Washington, PA, Lorie Vella (James) of North East, and Cindy Palmer (Glen) of Middleburg, FL; grandchildren Brian and Michael (Cortney) Vella , Jennifer (Matt) Snopko, Erin, Emily, Kelsey, Jessica and Carl Manges, Kayla Palmer, Morgan (Dylan) Klinzing; great-grandchildren Stella and Kellan Snopko, and Theo Klinzing; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by brothers Stanley (Lois) LaFuria, Russell (JoBeth) LaFuria and Tony (Sue O'Neal) LaFuria.

Friends and family may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a Prayer Service on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Gregory Thaumaturgus Church. Interment will be held at St. Gregory Cemetery.
