Betty (Northrup) Hoyt

Betty (Northrup) Hoyt, age 82, of North East, passed away on Tuesday February 27, 2024 at her residence.

She was born on May 9, 1941 in Erie, Pennsylvania to the late Gerry and Florence (Sugden) Northrup.

Betty loved to read, quilt, work on puzzles and games during her spare time. She looked forward to planting her garden each spring and canning. Her family and friends were a joy to her and she loved to get together with them as often as she could.

Betty was an active member of the Lakeview Church of God and loved attending church, going to church activities and attending Bible Studies each week. But, above all else, Betty loved her Lord and her Christian faith was reflected in who she was, in all she did and in what she said. Though Betty was quiet and soft spoken, she had a profound impact on the lives of many through her Godly advice and words of wisdom. She was a true prayer warrior and everyone knew they could count on her to pray fervently for them. Her legacy will continue to live on through the multiple generation of lives she has touched and influenced.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Melvin, Don, and Willard Northrup; sisters, Lucy Baker and Lois Hetrick; and son-in-law, Pastor Frank King.

Betty is survived by her husband, Robert Hoyt; son, Robert Hoyt, Jr. (Mary Beth); daughters, Pastor Lori King and Lois Perrin; 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Family and friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Friday March 1st from 11:00 a.m. until time of a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
