Betty (Slater) Fry, 84, of North East and Ripley, passed away on Monday September 29, 2025 at Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on November 17, 1940 in North East, Pennsylvania to the late Clifford and Ethel (Owen) Slater.
Betty was employed as a waitress at 76 Truck Stop, Larry's Truck Stop, drove truck, and worked at the Basket Factory in Little Hope.
Throughout her life she loved being a mom, cooking, and her arts and crafts.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Fry; daughter, Cindy Riedel; great-grandson, Noah; sister, Dorothy Newman; brothers, Herman Slater, Clifford, Jr. Slater, and Charles Slater; sister-in-law, Rose Slater; and son-in-law, David Hart.
She is survived by her son, Richard Palmer; daughters, Lois Mitchem, Patti Throop (Charles), and Joan Hart; brother, Carl Slater; over 40 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
