Beth Peters Obituary

Beth L. (Leichliter) Peters, 64, of North East passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at her residence. She was born on April 10, 1957 in Greensburg, Pa., the daughter of Janet (Stewart) Leichliter and the late William Leichliter. Beth graduated Penn State University obtaining a Bachelor of Social Work degree and was employed as a Life Skills teacher’s aide in North East School District. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mark Leichliter. Beth is survived by her mother; her loving husband of 42 years, Clark Peters whom she married November 25, 1978; daughters Sarah Peters and Laura Inklovich, and son-in-law Keith Inklovich; brother, Douglas Leichliter and sister-in-law, Janet Leichliter, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Beth was an amazing woman. First and foremost, she loved the Jesus of the Bible, and lived her life for Him. It was just Beth’s nature to love people, and it was easy to love her back. Beth loved her family with her whole heart, and they have been blessed by her. She loved her dogs and her cats (as well as anyone else’s). Beth enjoyed books, scuba diving, motorcycling, camping, and cooking. She had a sense of wonder, and was exuberant about everything, and was joyful about all she loved. Beth often said that she had three families: her relatives, her church, and her fellow scuba divers. She bravely fought disease for over four years, and her cheer and determination were inspiring. The Beth-sized hole in her family’s hearts will never be filled, and they grieve her passing. But they celebrate who she was, and rejoice with her that she is now free from the struggles here, and is in the arms of Jesus. Friends may call at the First Baptist Church, 43 S. Lake Street, North East,, on Monday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. and are invited to a Funeral Service on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Private interment will be held at North East Cemetery, followed by a meal prepared by First Baptist Church for those that were able to attend the funeral. Beth requests that in lieu of flowers and for memorial, donations may be made to The Door Student Services, 77 Robinson St., North East, PA 16428, or to First Baptist Church, 43 South Lake St., North East, Pa 16428.
