Annie "Lena" Signorello Newara, 98, of North East passed away on Tuesday October 28, 2025 at Ball Pavilion.
She was born on February 5, 1927 in Long Island, New York to the late Anthony and Frances Aguqliaro Signorello.
Lena formerly worked at The Villager and Penn Shore Winery in North East.
She was a member of St. Gregory Thaumaturgus Church.
Lena loved her family dearly and enjoyed cooking, crafts, gardening, and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Newara whom she married June 21, 1947; sister, Grace Newara and her husband Louis; granddaughter, Elizabeth Anne; step-mother, Josephine (Piazza) Signorello; and several brother and sister-in-laws.
Lena is survived by her children, Toni Marie Howell (Rick), Diane Priebe, and Anthony Newara (Cathi); grandchildren, Ann Marie Howell (Mike), Eric Howell (Stacy), Amy Stevens (Jerry), Danielle Priebe (Tom), Heather Newcomer (Ben), Jessica Duda (Ken), Allison Priebe (Jason), Nathan Newara (Justine), Vaughn Priebe (Lynette), and Jonathan Newara (Brittnay); great-grandchildren, Mason, Haley, Alayna, Alivia, Zac, Paige, Evan, Charlie, Emily, Taylor, Natalie, Wesley, Eli, Eleanor, Maisie, Siena, Silas, and Tate; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends and family may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Sunday November 2nd from 3:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. and are invited attend a prayer service on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Gregory Church. Interment will be held at St. Gregory Cemetery.
