Andrew R Bennardo, Sr

NORTH EAST - Andrew R. Bennardo, Sr., age 81, of North East, peacefully passed away on Monday August 29, 2022 at his residence after a six year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on February 27, 1941 in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania the son of the late Michael J. and Eve Bernice (Mazanek) Bennardo. Andrew was formerly employed at TEMCO as a stock controller and currently worked at the Walmart Supercenter in Harborcreek in the greeting and maintenance department. He was a member of St. Gregory Thaumaturgus Church and the North East Moose Lodge. Andrew love his fami- ly, people, and life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie R. (Matthew) Bennardo; nephew, Mark Bennardo; brother-in-laws, Jim Sinclair, James Smith, Lee Foeks, and James Storey; and sister-in-law, Jane Storey. Andrew is survived by his son, Andrew Bennardo, Jr. (Theresa); brother, Michael “Sonny” Bennardo (Kathy); sister-in-law, Alda Foeks; nephew, James E. Smith (Dawn); nieces, Mary Sheehan (Joe) and Sheila Johansen (Chris). Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Friday from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and are invited to attend a funeral service on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Officiating the service is Fr. Thomas Brooks. Interment will be held at St. Gregory Cemetery.
