Alan "Arnie" Glenn Arnold, age 71, of North East, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on July 9, 1951 in Erie, Pennsylvania the son of the late Glenn and Audrey (Peterson) Arnold.
He was formerly employed by PennDot and Jim Sul Farms driving semi truck and tractor during grape season for several years. Arnie was a volunteer fireman for 32 years; first with Greenfield Fire Department and then with Fuller Hose Company where he became honorary as an Assistant Fire Chief. He was an avid NASCAR fan attending many races. Arnie loved spending time with his family and enjoyed hunting and camping.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Peggy Walker; mother-in-law, Marjorie Krysiak; and father-in-law, Richard Krysiak.
Arnie is survived by his wife of 48 years, Laurie (Krysiak) Arnold whom he married August 31, 1974; children, Shellie Dimperio (Rex), Allison Burch (Tadd), and Julie Rutkowski; sister, Janice King (James); grandchildren, Cody Burch, Casey Burch, Chelsea Burch, Cassidy Burch, Emmalee Thomson, Madison Thomson, Maria Dimperio, Ethan Dimperio, Hunter States, Haleigh States, and Rhyan Rutkowski; also several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Friday, September 9 from 2-4 P.M. and 6-9 P.M. A Fireman's Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Private interment will be held at North East Cemetery.
