Marilyn Louise (Samlock) Allen, age 70, of Erie, formerly of North East and Findley Lake, died on Friday, July 16, 2021 at her residence. She was born on July 17, 1950 in Corry, Pa. to the late Edward and Helen (Niemenski) Samlock. Marilyn graduated Clymer High School in 1968 and was formerly employed by St. Vincent Hospital as a CNA and by Tops Market as a cashier. Marilyn attended St. James Catholic Church and was a member of the Erie Slovak Club and the East Erie Loyal Order of Moose Lodge. She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, and was known as the matriarch of the family. Family was the greatest blessing in Marilyn’s life. Marilyn enjoyed cooking, baking, searching for the perfect recipe, traveling, playing golf, and Christmas decorating; but her most favorite pastime was babysitting her grand-children which were her pride and joy. Throughout most of her life, she loved being a stay at home mom and babysitting her grandchildren and several other children; especially the Klenz children. Marilyn was loved and will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, John Elmer Allen whom she married June 7, 1975; daughters, Melissa Menchetti (Anthony) and Michelle Johnson (Eric); grandchildren, Alexis and Bryson Johnson; siblings, David Samolock (Donna), Joyce Lebhaft, Patricia Pattison (Dan), Cindy Needham (John), and Jim Allen; also several nieces and nephews. Marilyn’s family expresses their heartfelt gratitude for the loving care she received by her aide, Nataliia. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East, on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until time of a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Private interment will be held at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
