Florence “Maggie” Morrison died Tuesday February 12, 2019 in her sleep at her home in Erie, Pennsylvania where she had been residing for several years.  She was born May 5, 1949 in Allegheny Township, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Edwin F. and Virginia (Clawson) Morrison. Maggie was a 1967 graduate of Kiski Area High School, attended Bob Jones University, graduated the Salvation Army College of Officer training in Suffern, NY, and attended Allegheny Community College in the 90’s in pursuit of an RN degree.  She was very spiritual with a big heart generating genuine concern for other people as her first priority.  She was always willing to lend a helping hand.   There were many hats she wore throughout her life as; Salvation Army Officer, Certified Nursing Assistant, carrier for pharmaceutical drugs, ordained minister, and her most compassionate as an individual caregiver for several elderly individuals. During this time she developed and maintained several friendships throughout the country with who she was in continual communication. A positive personality was her trait which persevered during ongoing health issues she developed in the 90’s.  She found peace in the Erie area by forming many friendships and integrating into the community.  In Erie she was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and the Moose Club where she avidly participated in Karaoke.  Additionally she enjoyed the beautiful sunsets over the lake in the evenings; while having to endure the brutal winters and heavy snowfalls of the area. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Frank E. Morrison in 2016.  She is survived by her siblings, Helen J. Morrison, and James C. (Diane)Morrison both of Virginia, Nephew Edwin F.(Jill)Morrison, and Niece, Lottie Morrison of Allegheny Township, in addition to several aunts, cousins and close friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019 at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home located in NorthEast, Pennsylvania  at 12pm.  A private interment will be held at later date in Allegheny Township.

We will always remember Maggie for all her cards of well wishes over the years. As her aunt, I remember the many family visits she made to the farm in PA. She enjoyed visiting all family members no matter where they lived. Maggie enjoyed traveling to see friends and family. She was dedicated to her faith, and that is what supported her through life. We always worried about her, but she was strong and enjoyed life. She will be missed.40

I remember Maggie for her wonderful hugs, spirituality, and creativity. She was such an interesting and welcoming person! She will be missed in our congregation, St. Peter's Lutheran, in North East. I'm thankful that God shared her with us.
