Larry K. Rogers Sr., age 79, of North East died on Saturday August 25, 2018 at his residence.  

He was born in Greenfield Township on December 21, 1938 to the late Ralph and Doris (Titus) Rogers.

Larry was formerly employed as a supervisor by Electric Materials for 36 years until retirement in1999.  He was also formerly employed as a foreman by PENNDOT.

Larry was an honorary member at Greenfield Volunteer Fire Department, member of the East Erie Moose, and Our Lady of Mercy Church in Harborcreek.

He enjoyed working on the family dairy farm in Greenfield Township, scenic drives, hunting, and fishing.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Rogers and sister, Arlene Pound.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carol (Bonczar) Rogers, whom he married, April 29, 1959; sons, Larry K. Rogers Jr. (Jean) of North East and Kevin C. Rogers (Debbie) of North East; grandchildren, Ashley and Zachary Rogers; and nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to the Community Nursing Services of North East, Hospice staff.

In accordance with Larry's wishes, no calling hours will be observed.  In celebration of his life, relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 837 Bartlett Rd., Harborcreek, PA 16421 on Wednesday at 11:00 am.  Private interment will be at St. Gregory Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Church or Hospice Community Nursing Services of North East, 7 Park St., North East, PA 16428.  Funeral arrangements are under the care of the William D. Elkin Funeral Home.

Dear Carol & Family:
I am saddened to learn of Larry's passing. He was a great guy and will be missed. We have some good memories of fun times in the past and those live on in our hearts forever. Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.
