Bertha Lou Thompson Hubler Forrest, age 90, of North East died on Sunday April 15, 2018 at Manor Care.  

She was born on May 30, 1927 in Philipsburg, PA the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Florence Smith Thompson.

Bertha was a resident of North East since 1949 and was formerly employed with MK Bemis Agency.  She later established State Line Permit Service and Morgan Driveway with her husband, Tom.  

She was a member of the Holy Cross Episcopal Church and  the North East American Legion Auxiliary Post 105.

Bertha enjoyed cooking, canning, crocheting, camping, and going to the casino.  She loved spending time with her friends and family and will be sadly missed by all who loved her.

Bertha was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Thomas Lynn Hubler; second husband, Bobby Forrest; brother, Robert Lee Thompson, Jr.; and daughter-in-law, Doris Hubler.

She is survived by sons, Robert Lee Hubler of North East and Bryan Lynn Hubler (Donna) of Erie; grandchildren, Debbie Triana (Nick) of North East,  Rebecca Jo Wilson of North East, Michele Turlington (Jeremy) of Richmond, VA,  Heather Schnars (Greg) of Richmond, VA; great-grandchildren, William Joseph Triana, Isabella and Jackson Atticus, and Allyn and Mackenzie Schnars; great-great granddaughter, Lillian Grace Murray.

The family would like to acknowledge HCR Manor Care for their years of loving care and dedication.  Especially Betty and Holly in the activities department and Sarah, who spent a lot of time with Bertha.

Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street North East on Saturday from 1:00 pm until time of a funeral service at 3:00 pm at the funeral home.  Officiating the service is  Rev. Carol Carlson.  Private interment will be held at Grahamville Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Manor Care, 3805 Field Street, Erie, PA 16511.  Please send condolences to www.elkinfh.com.
