Nicholas "Pops" J. DiGilio III, age 67, of North East, died on Tuesday March 6, 2018 in Detroit, Michigan.  He was born on July 18, 1950 in Darby,  PA the son of the late Nicholas John DiGilio II and Helen (McGinnis) DiGilio.  Nick was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Air Force as an electrical engineer.  He graduated Springfield High School and was employed as an electrician by General Electric, Hammermill Paper Company, and North East Cogen Power Plant.  Nick was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus #4262.  Throughout life, Nick enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, golfing, riding motorcycle, sunsets at Freeport Beach, and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.  He is survived by his sons, Nicholas DiGilio IV (Cassie) of Detroit MI, Kevin DiGilio (Lorie) of North East, Benjamin DiGilio (Alli) of North East, Andrew DiGilio of North East, and Julian DiGilio (Abigail) of Petersburg, PA; siblings, Susan LeFever (Jack) of Springfield, PA, David DiGilio (Donna) of Mechanicsburg, PA, John DiGilio of Springfield, PA, and Helen Achuff (Bruce) of Pottstown, PA;  grandchildren, Courtney, Brandon, Raigen, Nathan, Madison, Paisley, and Everett; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his faithful companions, CoCo and Max. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Sunday at 2:00 pm until time of a memorial service at 4:00 pm.  Officiating the service is Deacon Richard E. So sorry for your loss, our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Recently going through this ourselves we understand how hard of a time this can be. Ben, please let us know if you need anything. I hope he enjoyed watching the Eagles win the Super Bowl as much as we did!
