Music by The Piano Brothers

Kayla M.  McGrath, age 21, of North East, died on Friday February 16, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital.  She left this world too early, taking with her some love from everyone who knew her.  Kayla was born on January 29, 1997 in Erie the daughter of Pam and Jason McGrath.  She graduated North East High School in 2015 and was currently employed by the Barber National Institute as a resident specialist.  Kayla had a passion for music and was a gifted flutist, pianist, and vocalist.  One of her greatest joy's in life was to sing, whether along with the radio or accompanied by her fiancé on the guitar.  Throughout her career at the Barber National Institute, Kayla was well known for her infectious smile and gift of compassion with the people she cared for.  Her unbridled spirit was a radiant source of smiles and laughter, and her beautiful soul will forever live in our hearts....in the words of her fiancé, "until our souls meet again".  Like a shooting star flying across the room, so fast, so far, and gone too soon.  She was preceded death by her maternal grandmother, Carole Ann Wagner; paternal grandmother, Lois Field; an uncle, Timothy; and Ma and Pa.  Kayla will be sadly missed by her parents; fiancé, Andrew Barr; maternal grandfather, Larry Wagner; paternal grandparents, Robert and Vera McGrath and Norm Field; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.  Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Wednesday day 2-4 and 7-9.  Private interment North East Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
