Martha Ross McGaughey Randall, age 89, of North East, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday February 1, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in North East, Pa on August 13, 1928 the daughter of the late Arloe and Dorthea Burden Ross.

Martha graduated from North East High School, Erie Commercial College, and was formerly employed by Erie Insurance and also worked as a nurses aide.

She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in North East where she sang in the choir and enjoyed participating in Sunday Worship.

Throughout Martha's lifetime, she continuously opened her heart to find goodness and beauty in everything.  She loved flower gardening, beautiful sunsets, and making people smile.  Martha put her enthusiasm and gusto into everything, including weeding her flowerbeds.  After becoming  reacquainted later in life, she and Dave Randall were married on June 22, 1996.  One of their great passions in life was square and ballroom dancing. They also enjoyed traveling around the world, playing in several card clubs, and spending time with family and friends.  Martha was a caring and nurturing mother who was seen as a "hero" by her children. During her children's younger years, Martha was a softball coach, baseball scorekeeper, cook, problem solver, teacher, and encourager. Her family meant everything.  Martha's whimsical humor and sense of wonder was contagious to all  who had the privilege of knowing her.  Martha is now dancing beyond the stars "until we meet again".

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her daughter, Lynn McGaughy; infant daughter, Michele; and a brother, Arloe (Sonny) Ross.

She is survived by her husband and love of her life, David J. Randall; beloved children, Kathleen Luke (Bill Herman), Mike McGaughey ( Barb), Gail Kurre (Jim), Tim McGaughey (Amy), Brian McGaughey (Julie), Teresa McGaughey (John), Tom McGaughey , and Scott McGaughey (Paula); Stepchildren, Jon Randall (Mariane), Kathleen Randall, Marjorie Crowe, and Norma Randall-Myers; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
