Ann M. Nuber Thomas, age 93, of North East, died on Saturday July 29, 2017 at her residence.  She born on November 26, 1923 in Erie, PA the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret Smith Nuber.  Ann was formerly employed at Concord Pharmacy, Loblaws Grocery, National Bank of North East, and served as the North East Township tax collector for 16 years.  She was an active member of St. Gregory Catholic Church and loved spending time with her family.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Baron Thomas; and brother, Gerald Nuber.  Ann is survived by her children; Karen McGrath of Erie, John Thomas of North East, Michele Thomas of Erie, and William Anthony Thomas of Erie; grandchildren, Kathleen Weber, Brian McGrath, John McGrath, Padraic McGrath, Dalton Thomas, and Anthony Thomas; great-grandchildren, Michael, William, Joseph, Dustin, Tyler, Sean, and Madigan; and her beloved dog, Bunny.  Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend a prayer service on Tuesday at 10:00 am at the funeral home followed by a funeral mass at St. Gregory Church at 10:30 am.  Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to St. Gregory Church, 136 West Main Street or the Community Nursing Services of North East, 7 Park Street, North East, PA 16428.
