Edythe Carlene (Fish) Dolan Whitman, age 79, of North East, died on Thursday April 20, 2017 at UPMC Hamot.  She was born on May 7, 1937 in Waterford, PA to the late Harry and Leona (Howard) Fish.  Edythe was formerly employed as a custodian by the Union City School District for several years.  She was a member of the North East American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the North East V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary where she served as a past service officer.  She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed animals, puzzles, reading, and flowers.  Edythe was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Chester Dolan and Carl Whitman; loving partner, Roger Skellie; a sister, Evelyn Fish; brothers, Jack and Alvin Fish; brother and sister in-laws, Robert and Joan Fish, Kay and Herbert Hoag, Yvonne and Earnest Babcock, and a son-in-law, Charles Kingman.  She is survived by her children, Karen Kingman, Rebecka Mong (Richard), Steven Dolan (Cheryl), Vallrie Maloof (Frank), Virginia Tech (John), Roger Dolan (Tammy) and Julie Baldwin (George); a brother, Rodney Fish (Linda); a sister-in-law, Eleanor Fish; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Monday 1:00 pm until time of a funeral service at 3:00 pm.  Officiating the service is Rev. David Kuchta.  Private interment Evergreen Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to North East Fire Department, PO Box 89, North East, PA 16428 or Community Nursing Services of North East, 7 Park Street, North East, PA 16428. Please send condolences to elkinfh.com.

Mom was such a nice person. She was such a soft hearted spirit. She never said a bad word about anybody. She accepted everybody just the way they were. I will miss Her and her whitty sense of humor.

Hello family, thank you for being there. While we all move thru this. Very difficult time for our family, hard choices to be made and hope that we made the right ones. Mom struggled a good part of her life and we all can learn lesson about life by thinking of mom and what she lived thru. I want to thank, all of you for your help and support.
