Albert Henri Counasse Jr., age 69, of North East died on Saturday April 15, 2017 at his residence.He was born on March 5, 1948 in Erie, Pa to the late Albert H. and Laura B. Counasse.

Albert graduated from Academy High School class of 1966. He formerly worked for Counasse Plumbing, owned and operated Clay Street Laundry in North East, drove truck for Troyer Farms, Redinger Builders, Gartner-Harf Company and was also a self-employed contractor for over 20 years.

In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his sons, Christopher Counasse and Michael Firestone; granddaughters, Danielle Counasse and Nicole Lindquist.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Margaret "Peggy" Loomis Counasse, whom he married on July 5, 1982; children, Trevor Counasse (Angela) of Union City, Tracy Counasse (Kirsten) of TX, Terry Young (David) of Franklin, OH, Gail Morgan (John) of Fort Worth, TX,  Michele Blanks (Kenny) of Erie,Tina Culver (Craig) of North East, Yvonne Doege (David) of FL,  Carol Lindsey (Rick) of Columbus, PA; sister, Elaine Brunner (Dennis) of FL; 30 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to the North East Christian Missionary Alliance Church, 81 East Main St., North East on Saturday at 10:00 am until time of a memorial service at 11:00 am. Memorials may be made to the Community Nursing Services of North East Hospice, 7 Park St., North East, PA 16428. Please send condolences to

Peggy and family, You all have my heartfelt sympathy. Words are never enough to let you all know that I care. Al was a good kind loving man, I know he will be missed by many.
