Franklin "Frank" L. Fisher, age 59, of North East, died on Tuesday April 4, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on August 17, 1957 the son of the late Franklin R. and Dorothy Y. (Maille) Fisher. Frank was a veteran of the Grenada Operation Urgent Fury serving in the United States Air Force.  He graduated North East High School in 1975 and Mercyhurst College earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work.  Throughout his professional career, he was employed by Harborcreek Youth Services, Erie Woman's Shelter, Erie VA Medical Center and the United States Postal Service.  Frank was an 18 year member of the North East Crescent Hose Company where he served as Rescue Chief. He was a devoted patriot and was a member of the North East American Legion Post 105 and the North East V.F.W. Post 4789 where he formerly served as Post Commander and participated in several military funerals.  He was a former North East High School Baseball Coach and Little League coach. Frank loved spending time with his grandchildren "the gang", and enjoyed sports, NASCAR, and camping.  He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Jackie (Lemke) Fisher whom he married March 29, 2003; children, Frank C. Fisher (Jessica) of North East and Candice Fisher (Matthew Brumbaugh) of Grants Pass, Oregon, Jimmy Moore (Danielle) of North East and Samantha Moore of York, PA; sister, Cindy Ross (Robert) of VA; brothers, Jeff Fisher of Daytona Beach, FL, and Chris Fisher (Jessica) of Wichita, KS; grandchildren aka "the gang", Lillian, Frankie and Lexi; close friend, Darlene Goodman of Erie; also several nieces and nephews.  Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend a funeral service with Full Military Honors on Saturday at 11:00 am at the funeral home.  Officiating the service is Pastor David Kuchta.  Private interment will be at St. Gregory Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the North East Little League, PO Box 817, North East, PA 16428; or the Community Nursing Services of North East, PA 16428, or the North East V.F.W.
