Geraldine Louise Fields, age 94, of Erie passed peacefully at UPMC Hamot on Friday March 25, 2016 after a short illness.


She was born on November 2, 1921 in Ripley, NY and then lived her entire adult life in Erie, PA.

Gerry graduated from Academy High School, class of 1939.She belonged to numerous organizations, most notably was a 50+ year charter member of the National Secretary's Club.


Gerry enjoyed traveling the world, especially with her best friend, Ginnie Andersen.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Blanche Dewey Saunders; father, William Saunders; brother, Warren Saunders; sister-in-law, Jackie Saunders.


Gerry leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends to cherish her wit and wealth of knowledge.Special thanks to Dave and Brenda Darling and family, Louise and Rick Smerick, and the "Smith" girls for their special care as of late.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday April 2, 2016 at 4:00 pm at Quincy Cemetery in Ripley, NY. Arrangements are under the care of the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 S. Lake St., North East. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be graciously accepted at the Mercy Center for Women, 1039 East 27th Street, Erie, PA 16504. Please send condolences to www.elkinfh.com.

Dear Family of Geraldine Fields who passed away on March 25 2016
at Hamot Hospital in Erie Pennsylvania and she was the family and
friend of Miss Dorothy M Curtis and family member and friend of
Margaret Longberg and Harry Longberg and Leonard and Sara Morse
and Tom and Barb Hakel and the kids and a friend to Mrs. Doris Nelson
and a family member and friend to Harry and Donna and Linda Yaple
and Dave and Karen and Brian and Debbie Yaple and Jenny Padgett.
and I would like to send my condolences and sympathy's to the family
of Miss Geraldine Fields and for the times that I had spending time with
her and my family members and the friends she had when we were growing
up and the times that she spent time with Sara and Doris and Margaret
and Dorothy Curtis and my mother Mrs. Donna Yaple when would go out
to lunch together and spend time together at Tom and Barb Hakel's House
for Christmas. I will miss her very much.

Dear Family of Miss Geraldine Fields who pass away on March 25th 2016
it will one year since Gerry Fields went to be with her Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ and I like Gerry Fields when I was a little girl and then she
was my aunt Gerry too because she was friends with Sara, Dorothy,
Margaret and Doris Nelson and my mother Donna Yaple who has been
friends with Geraldine Fields since I lived at 836 East 33rd Street by the
Lincoln Elementary School at 831 East 31st Street and then she knew
Leonard and Sara Morse and Tom and Barb Hakel and Miss Dorothy Curtis
and Mrs. Doris Nelson and Harry and Donna Yaple and Harry and Margaret
Longberg and then she lived in Harborcreek Pa and she would go out lunch
with Doris Sara Dorothy Margaret and Donna Yaple my mother and then
we would see her at Tom and Barbs: house at Fox Hollow Lane at my
parents 50th Wedding Anniversary Party and she was friends with Doris
Kestel and Ruth Hakel and the rest of the family and relatives and now that
Gerry Fields is gone for one year on March 25th 2017 and I still miss my
Aunt Gerry Fields I am sending my deepest condolences and sympathy's
to Gerry Fields family and I still love her very much now that she is up
in heaven with the rest of her family and friends and relatives.
