Anna Tucker Tubbs Brockway Ardillo, age 94, formerly of Harborcreek, died on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at PA Soldiers and Sailors Home.


She was born in Cleveland, OH on June 3, 1921 to the late Walter E. Tubbs Sr. and Beulah Rice Tubbs Miles Reed.


Anna was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Marine Corp Women's Reserve as a Personnel Staff Sergeant.


She graduated from Wesleyville High School Class of 1939 and graduated from Tucker School of Expression in Cleveland, OH.


Anna was employed for several years at Erie Resistor Corporation as an assembler.


She was a lifetime member of the North East American Legion Post 105, Harborcreek Fireman's Auxiliary, South Harborcreek United Methodist Church and past member of the East Erie Moose Lodge Post 593 and First Christian Church.

Anna enjoyed knitting, sewing, reading and especially loved crossword puzzles.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Ardillo (07-29-1995); brothers, Robert Tubbs and Walter E. Tubbs Jr.


Anna is survived by sons, Michael Brockway of San Antonio, TX and Thomas Ardillo (Michele) of Harborcreek; daughters, Barbara Pietrasiewicz (Bernard) of North East and Frances Ward (David) of Mayville, NY; brother, John P. Tubbs of CA; sisters, Dorothy Salen of Tulsa, OK and Ruth Davis of Boerne, TX; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 S. Lake St., North East on Wednesday 5-8 and Thursday at 10:00 am until time of a funeral service at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Officiating Rev. Eric Leonard. Interment Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Memorials may be made to PA Soldiers and Sailors Home Activity Fund, 560 East 3rd., Street, Erie, PA 16507 or Harborcreek Fire Dept., 7275 Buffalo Rd., Harborcreek, PA 16421. It was fun emailing Aunt Anna when she had her computer. She had such a cute sense of humor! I will miss her but am so glad we were able to visit when we went to reunions. God Bless you all, she left a wonderful legacy in her sweet children, my cousins!
