John R. Alexander, 91 of Erie, Pa passed away Friday, May 22, 2015, at the VA Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Dubois, Pa., the son of the late James and Mary Foster Alexander.
John was an US Army Veteran and he had owned and operated Alexander’s Arco Service Station in Lawrence Park for many years.
He had many interests including his love of classic cars and he enjoyed watching baseball and bowling. He loved reading, sitting in the park and growing his beautiful roses.
Survived by his beloved wife, Connie Alexander of 50 years. His children include, Connie Vinopal, Joyce Wyant, Sandi Rogers, Robin Slubowski (Mike) and Lois Parnell.
His grandchildren include, Micki Mello Loringer (Dan), Darled Keith Jr. (Barb), Robin Sue Cody, Daney, John (Nikki), Tami, Candy Wyant and Joey Omniewski; many great-grandchildren.
Also survived by his brother Robert Alexander (Betty) and sister Jean Alexander. He will be sadly missed by his family. “Love you Daddy/Grandpapa so much”
At John’s request, there will be no service or funeral visitation.
There will be a private memorial with his family at a later time.  Funeral arrangements are being handled by the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East.
