Dawn Talerico Williams, age 71, of North East died on Saturday March 14, 2015 at UPMC Hamot.

She was born on November 23, 1943 in Bradford, PA to the late Francis J. and Sally Mary Susan Talerico.

Dawn graduated from St. Bernard School and JH Thompson where she earned a teaching degree in Cosmetology.

She was employed as a dental assistant in Bradford and Erie and was also employed with Great Lakes Hospice of Erie.

Dawn was currently employed as an activity coordinator at Pleasant Ridge Manor.

She enjoyed gardening, birds, dogs, and spending time with her husband.

Dawn is survived by her husband of 35 years, James Williams, whom she married on May 5, 1979; daughter, Chimene Petitt of New Jersey; stepsons, Jason Williams (Barb) of Erie and Jeff Williams (Michelle) of Edinboro; sisters, Sandra S. Jordan of Erie and Annette Roeder of Sharon, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Maya, Alexander, and Ava; several nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.

Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake St., North East on Tuesday 7-9 and Wednesday 2-4 and 7:00 pm until time of a funeral service at 8:00 pm at the funeral home.  Officiating Father Leo Gallina. Private interment North East Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Anna Shelter, 1555 E. 10th St., Erie, PA 16511.  Please send condolences to www.elkinfh.com.

I was fortunate to have been a classmate of Dawn's. She was one of the sweetest girls I knew; she taught me to laugh at things that seemed overwhelming at the time. I'm grateful for knowing her. May she rest in peace.
