Dallas M. Adams, Sr., age 79, of Ripley formerly of North East, died on Sunday July 13, 2014 at Westfield Hospital.

He was born on October 12, 1934 in North East to the late Archie Merle & Jessie Burt Adams.

Dallas was formerly employed as a mechanic & machinist at Copes Vulcan and Pet Foods for several years.

He was a lifetime member of the Ripley Fire Department, former member of the Ripley Bowling League, and Cub Scout Maser for several years.

Dallas enjoyed golfing, hunting, fixing tractors, and attending auctions and steam trailer shows.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Elsie Hadzega & Thelma Alcorn; a brother, David Adams; and grandson, Ryan Shampoe.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Roberta Bisbee Adams whom he married October 31, 1954; children, Laurel Adams of Ripley, Connie Adams Mattson (Norman) of Austin, TX; Matthew Adams (Terry) of North East, Marjorie Davis (Tom) of Bemus Point, Mark Adams of Dallas, TX, Michael Adams (Kimberly) of North East, Peter Adams of North East, Jennifer Wilkinson (Steven) of Ripley, Dallas Adams, Jr. (Chris) of Portland, NY, Johnathan Adams of Erie; grandchildren, "Bear" Shampoe, Christopher Adams, Sydney Dickerson, Nate Adams, Andrew Adams, Emily Adams, Benjamin Adams, Jeanie Davis, Cody Adams, Zachary Adams, Sami Adams, Branan Britt, Katie Britt; great-granddaughter, Jade Shampoe; dogs, Friskie, Smoky, & Dalton.

Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday at 11:00 am at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church 81 East Main Street North East.  Officiating Rev. Marvin Hutchison.  Interment Quincy Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
