Jill Marie Heath Kern, age 67, of North East died on Thursday April 3, 2014 at home.

She was born on January 13, 1947 in Erie, Pa to the late Clem and Jean Keim Heath.

Jill graduated from North East High School.

Along with her husband, she owned and operated Kern Refrigeration in North East since 1986 and Kern Pet Casket and Memorials.

She loved animals, especially cats.

Jill is survived by her husband of 48 years, Robert Kern, whom she married November 11, 1965; son, Todd Kern (Susan) of Harborcreek; brothers, Carl Heath and Jack Heath both of Erie; grandchild, Cody Kern of Harborcreek.

Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 S. Lake Street, North East on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend a funeral service on Monday at 11:00 am at the funeral home.  Officiating Rev. David Waldo. Interment North East Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Anna Shelter, 1555 East 10th Street, Erie, Pa 16511.

She may not have been ready to leave this earth but....He was ready for her to join Him. Knowing that she knew Christ in her heart made her passing easier for us all. She lived a painful life but that pain has ended now. My heart breaks for those she left behind. My deepest sympathies to the family.
