Stephanie (Payne) O'Neal

Stephanie (Payne) O'Neal, age 80, of North East, PA passed away on Monday March 4, 2024 at her daughter's residence.

She was born on May 24, 1943 in Erie, Pennsylvania to the late Richard L. and Velma (Audine) Payne.

Stephanie graduated North East High School and Gannon University where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mental Health Counseling.

She was formerly employed by Welch Foods, Colt Station Restaurant, Erie County Office of Children & Youth, and was a behavioral specialist for troubled adolescence at Perseus House for 13 years.

Stephanie was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. O'Neal III; daughters, Debbi O'Neal and Lauri O'Neal; and sister, Shirley Swarm.

She is survived by her daughter, Joette O'Neal of Erie; son, Jim O'Neal (Karen) of Clymer; step-sons, Joseph C. O'Neal III (Lori) of Little Hope and Robert O'Neal (Karri) of Wattsburg; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews, especially Tina Schwab (Ted), Kristina Swarm, and Richard Anderson.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to her nurse, Jamie and aides, Jesse, Becky, and Carrie Ann from Interim Hospice who took amazing care of her.
