Alma I. (Duke) Wettekin, age 78, of Erie, PA passed away on Tuesday, April 2,2024, at St. Vincent Hospital.
She was born on November 27, 1945, in Union City, PA to the late Kermit Lawrence and Dortha May (Ramsey) Duke.
Alma graduated from Union City High School.
Over the years, Alma enjoyed fishing, the "Night Under Fire" racing event in Norwalk, OH, camping with her family at Red Oak and was always looking forward to the next family picnic and gathering. She especially adored and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a two-time cancer survivor and participated in every Relay for Life event.
Alma is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roger L. Wettekin; her sister, Shirley Murphy, and an infant sister.
She is survived by her sons; Roger W. Wettekin (Tamara) of Erie, Richard B. Wettekin (Gayle) of Erie, Charles C. Rice, Waterford, Stanley S. Rice, Geneva, OH, Brian S. Rice, Wattsburg, Aaron M. Wettekin, Warren, PA; daughters, Louise Fahlen, Albion, Laurie Wettekin, Erie, Melissa Morad (Robert) Erie, Jennifer Mushrush (Patrick) Erie; brother, Walter Duke (Vera) of Union City; 26 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 6:00 pm. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Officiating the service is Rev. William G. Cox, Jr. Interment will be held at the North East Cemetery following the funeral service.
