Beatrice Baldwin Johnston, age 92, of North East died on Wednesday January 3, 2018 at Millcreek Community Hospital.

She was born in Pittsfield, Pa on September 20, 1925 to the late Lynn C. and Clara Lamb Baldwin.

Beatrice graduated from Westfield High School and had worked for G.C. Murphy's, A&P Grocery, Jubilee grocery store and in the North East School Cafeteria.

She enjoyed reading, crocheting, flowers, gardening and going to yard sales.

In addition to her parents, Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd E. Johnston; daughter, Melanie Giorgini; brothers, Glenn and John Baldwin; sisters, Margaret Sotille and Eleanor Blue; son-in-law, Wayne Seymour.

She is survived by her daughters, Catherine Seymour of North East and Linda Whitton (Daryl) of Wattsburg; son, David Johnston of Erie; brothers, Walter Baldwin (Jennie) of Denver and Robert Baldwin (Ruth) of Dunkirk; sisters, Violet Racine of  Massachusetts and Mary Penna (Anthony) of Florida; grandchildren, Denise Lynch, William Johnston, Jamie Snyder, Timothy Lafferty, Laura Lloyd, Christopher Whitton and Matthew Whitton; 11 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 S. Lake St., North East on Sunday 3:00-7:00 pm and are invited to attend a funeral service on Monday at 11:00 am at the funeral home.  Officiating Rev. Robert Klecan.  Private interment Grahamville Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Anna Shelter, 1555 E. 10th St., Erie, PA 16511 or McCord Memorial Library, 32 W. Main St., North East, PA 16428. To the family of Beatrice (Baldwin) Johnston, please accept my sincere condolences in your loss of your mother, grandmother, great grandmother. My mother was Mildred Halloran, daughter of Roy and Hazel (Gibson) Halloran. God Bless you in your time of grief and loss of Beatrice.
