I am in a nursing home undergoing rehabilitation. I am sorry that I will not be able to attend the funeral and pay my respects to my shipmate. It was an honor and a privilege to serve with Charlie. Charlie, thank you for your service. Fair Winds and Following Seas.

Dear friends and family of Charlie, greetings with sympathy for your loss. I was a friend of Charlie at Westminster College, primarily during our freshman year, after which our relationships and majors took us into different social circles. However, I really enjoyed knowing him and remember him well from our common life in Russell Hall, the frosh dormitory. I never knew he was from the Erie area (or forgot long ago), but it is amazing and sad we didn't find our way to each other during the past few years, because I've been a regular visitor to North East to visit my eldest brother Tom (who passed last September 17 and was buried by Elkin) and my younger brother Dr. Stanley TE Schuyler. May God bless your service of remembrance and give you comfort through your grief during the coming weeks and months.

In the love and hope of the resurrected Christ,
Bob Schuyler, Grand Rapids, MI
