Teresa Ann Maroglio, of North East, departed this world on Saturday July 23, 2017 due to a tragic and senseless act.  She was born on September 25, 1962 in North East to Fred and Mona (Cochran) Maroglio.  Teresa graduated from Heritage Christian Academy in 1980 and then proceeded on in life as a wife, mother, and caregiver; to both her family and other less fortunate then her.  In addition, she was a foster parent to many troubled youth over the years, working with both the Erie County Foster Care System as well as the Bair Foundation.  Teresa always had a soft spot in her heart for stray and abandoned animals, picking-up and adopting several dogs and cats over the years.  At the time of her death, she had eight cats and three dogs, all of which have been placed in proper homes.  In addition to foster care, Teresa worked at Hamot Hospital, the Barber Center, Erie Infant Homes, and was currently employed by Bright Star as a home health care specialist.  Teresa was preceded in death by her beloved in laws, Chuck and Betty Murphy.  In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sons, Russell Murphy of Louisville, KY and Antonio Murphy of Erie; daughters, Cassandra Murphy of North East and Allyssa Maroglio of North East; a brother, Kent Maroglio of Summit Township; a sister, Tamara Maas (Scott) of North East; and her former husband Steven Murphy of Erie.  Friends are invited to call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday at 11:00 am at the funeral home.  Officiating the service is Rev. Troy Keith.  Interment will be held at North East Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the ANNA Shelter, 1555 E 10th Street, Erie, PA 16511; or HOPE Animal Rescue, PO Box 31222, Des Moines, Iowa, 50310; or the French Creek Animal Rescue, 13869 Route 19, Waterford, PA 16441.

My sincere sympathy to Terry's family, for your loss. Terry used to come to our house with
my daughter, in their teen years. No words can erase the grief, just know that we care.

Terri was part of our family for as long as I can remember. She was such a caring person. I remember her bringing Aunt Betty down to my mothers Aunt Pete's house several times so they could play cards or scrabble and then Betty and Pete would get in a fight over the game. Oh I miss those days. RIP Terri you sweet girl.

For Mona, Fred, and other family members, you have my deepest sympathy and thoughts /prayers at this time of grief. Terri was one of the first friends I had made when my family had moved to North East in '70's . I remember lots of fun times, doing crafts, summer camp, attending church together, etc.. Terri had a kind heart and will be sorely missed , I pray and know she is in a better place. God bless, Linda
